I see a lot of nicks on the obverse and it looks like there are some rim dings on reverse. FadeToBlack Pillar of the Community 1751 Posts	Posted 11/13/2013 7:43 pm Somebody else will have to educate you, since I don't know much about Ikes. I can tell you that planchet issues that weren't struck out during minting are not supposed to hurt a coins technical grade. Ikes are well known for having many of these planchet hits because of the hard planchets. The striking pressures required for a fully struck ike are substantially higher than that of a large silver dollar, for example. I ended up just holding onto this, mostly because of the hit on the back of the head behind the ear. If that wasn't there... Report this Post to the Staff

Wonder if they have had the hardest strike pressure of any American coin? Obviously silver large dollars are softer and the Ike is the only clad large dollar right? Report this Post to the Staff
