 The guy's offering it to me for $115. I'm looking to expand my ancient coin collection that currently rests at only 4 coins. Is this a good price. Thanks.

I do not usually buy Republican denarii. But if I did I would certainly look at this one ! Not only do you have a different obv. than is typical (Sol ?) You have a very interesting rev, a crescent moon and four stars. I have been told by at least one dealer and a 'serious' collector I know that Republican silver is one of the "hot" areas of the ancients. Prices for first rate stuff are high. But also to be very honest one reason I don't buy silver is I am scared by the quality of fakes these days. You should ask for some sort of limited guarantee.
Other than that ....... "veeery interesting"

I haven't checked for the price, Looks OK.
Mostly before I buy any ancient coin, I like to examine it 'in hand' first, unless I personally know who is selling it, or who has a first class international reputation.
For value I like to look at nearest equivalent coin to be found on VCOINS, before making a decision to buy. Sometimes this strategy leads be to buying the vcoins example instead!

it's a nice lookin' coin, and that price seems reasonable...but I'm not familiar with the coin. be sure to comparison shop a bit.

Very intriguing piece. Generally Luna is associated with the transmigration of 'spirits'. Who died in 109BC ? And the significance of the star patern ?

Some really fascinating history I am spying on this one. Manius Aqullius served as consul with Marius in 101BC. Interesting career which I am afraid came to a rather 'sudden' end.
