I don't collect but they are my favourite to purchase, research and resell. Sometimes, I wish I kept some that I have sold! That one is a beauty!

I just got started: so far I just have 3, but I'm really enjoying collecting them :) And I've been dying to get a newf toonie, but they are just too costly... nice cent, BTW.

A year ago I filled in my small cents from the last fifteen years. I am only missing a couple of coins in the small cents. Then my dad gave me four large cents which I had not been collecting.

I decided to go for those too so in the last 12 months I have been working on my large cent album. I just completed it last month. The 1858 was the expensive one. I decided not to bother with the 1859 varieties, nor the 1891 varieties; but it is kind of neat to say that I have at least one coin from 1858 to 2012 in each of the years pennies were made.

Because small cents was my first collection as a kid, that collection is nearer and dearer to me than the large cents, even though I put double the money into the large cents.

Large cents are my favorite of all the coins.
They are what got me started as a young lad.
I have only been into the varieties for the last year.
There sure is a lot to know.
Rest in Peace

I've got at least one from every year they were minted, in EF or better, but I haven't got the varieties yet. I've got my hands full trying to keep up with the small cent varieties and errors.

Nice coin, artdio!

I've just started buying some on ebay recently, I really like the look they have and also the fact that some of them are more than 100 years old.

I'll be looking to add to my collection a little at a time, hopefully I can find a place in Montreal (& surroundings) that could supply me with some of them at a decent price.

Yesterday, I sort of added 45 Vickies to my 3 large cents ... paid something like $5 per coin. I usually prefer quality over quantity, but since they were not too bad (VG+), and there are so many varieties, I thought it would be really fun to identify/grade/play with them before possibly reselling them .

Here is a link:

PS. Yes, I know, I overpaid. Again.

One of my favorites - 1882 with heavy punch doubling. Has been harshly cleaned at one time, still a nice find.
