To DVCollector- I bought mine attributed .... was pricey but seemed reasonable as only 30% above what a regular '67 would be (mine was ~$425). I'm not a variation buff but this one is so striking I figured I'd take the bait as my other '67 was in pretty poor shape! Report this Post to the Staff
RedRaider Pillar of the Community United States 1028 Posts	Posted 04/08/2014 4:10 pm I bought that one attributed. If you can find one in MS unattributed, it would be like winning the lotto. I buy many varieties unattributed, resell them for a profit, then use the profits off the sales to purchase high grade varieties that are attributed. I've done this for the '67/67, 69/69, 91 S1, 94 S1, 97 S1. It's taken years to get the money needed to attain these varieties in mint state. Working on the 73 double liberty now. I think I got a great deal on it, even though I bought in attributed. When I drove to the dealers shop to pick it up, I cherry picked an 1890 S1 in a very high grade. It is currently at PCGS being graded. It will either go AU or MS BN. If I choose to sell it, it will be big time cash to put toward the 1873 doubled liberty. Since it is a very high grade of a very scarce variety, it will be tough to sell! Report this Post to the Staff

The '73 doubled liberty is a great variety - never even contemplated trying to get except keeping an eye out for it. The 67/67's can still be acquired pretty cheaply considering their rarity. Its kinda laughable looking at the 69/69 vs. the 67/67 - the 67/67 appears to be rarer and is definitely much more distinct. The only reason I'd consider acquiring a 69/69 is that it is a slot in the book. Its one of 2 I need to fill ...... Report this Post to the Staff
