Its pretty depressing to know people who ordered so much later than me getting the coin while ordering at 11:45 pm PST did me no good at all. So much for the early bird getting the worm. It all comes down to what rep you got. For the record, the name of my rep is Chris.

I checked Canada Post's catalogue.
It showed " direct ship " on this specific coin in the catalogue, which means CP's staff can only place order for customer and coin will ship directly to customer's address.
It also mentioned in catalogue, limit ONE (staff told me ONE PER OUTLET)
Selling Date: Sep 2nd.
CP Outlet's staff tried to place order for me yesterday but failed.
I guess we have to wait until Sep 2nd's 9:30am Vancouver Time after Canada Post open.

I called Canada Post and they told me the Direct Ship works like this, They have a certain amount of coins that Canada Post gets, each outlet has a maximum of one. In order to get a coin one must go to an outlet and order it by Direct Ship, on Sept. 2nd, you can order when the post opens. So theoretically those in the Maritimes will get first dibs, and then those in Quebec and Ontario. They will accept orders up until the allotment is finished, no outlet can order one ahead of its opening on September 2nd. And the Mint told me that there is a few coins that they set aside for the website release on Septemver 2nd as well, they usually update the minute after midnight. But I'm not 100% that this is confirmed.

well with 6000 post outlets in Canada that should make the chances of a getting a gold coin pretty good

6000 outlets but mintage is 2000. 2000 - mc's order and rep allotment - other dealers order = whatever left behind for cp direct order

@lostwords....couldnt have said it better myself.but we will never know the number of 2014 Superman gold coins the mint allocates to the Post Office..well then if there are...say... 500 gold coins left to distribute among 6000 postal outlets thats better odds than the lottery...im going to try for another one but I wont count on it.......I think the ebay presale is a better gamble.....

Wouldn't the gold be also available online on Canada Post's website to order like all the other coins?

Well actually all of them can sell the Superman coins since they dont need to have in the building since its Direct Ship. Newfoundlanders get first dibs at -3:30 UTC Then the Maritimers at -4:00 UTC And then Quebecers and Ontarians (or whatever its called) at -5:00 UTC And if any of the approximately 500 are left, then the Prairies and Pacific timezones get whats left.

Last year, the first Superman gold coin was available on the Canada Post website for at least a couple days. I'm pretty sure the new Superman gold coin will be up on the site too come September 2nd, it just won't be up there for as long.

The problem with the Canada Post website is that according to past experiences, the fact of getting the order doesn't guarantee that you will receive the item. They have oversold in the past.

That is true arianzo, I had ordered an Autumn Bliss coin from CP the moment it came out and after waiting for 3 months I never received it due to the overselling issue. This may or may not happen to the Superman gold but the CP website needs a major upgrade that's for sure.
