What you are seeing is called a clipped planchet, and is NOT considered PMD. When the individual planchet was punched, the punch happened too close to where other planchets had already been stamped out, causing the curved edges. This is quite common for Civil War tokens. As a matter of fact, I have the same exact token, and it also has two clips out of it. I think it makes it much more interesting than a whole planchet token.

Nice token, Cindy. I've been looking to add that type to my CWT collection for a while, but haven't found a suitable one yet. Yours appears to be struck better than most. The line under the snake is never fully struck.
