Quote: everything listed together - discounted and not discounted stuff. I was so annoyed after a few minutes that I gave up and didn't even bother looking for the sale items. I preferred it when one section listed all the sale items together, and mega deals were mega deals, etc. Personally, I've lost interest in CA because of this changeover. I used to check every day but not any more. Looks like I'll be saving some money.

Exactly the same....I just went over 2 years while waiting for my wife, and it's all - lost the patience to see "out of stock" / "fully priced" and some discounted among them + navigating to the "complete sets" / "silver commemorative" / "commemorative" and other sections. CA paid money to make the GUI nice and stupid.

Not much of a Boxing Day sale anywhere. Nothing from the RCM and Canada Post. And the offerings from Colonial Acres and CC&C are pitiful. Nothing but poor selling coins. As for Colonial Acres, their website is nice and shiny but very hard to find the "sales". The Colonial Acres new points program is similar to their old VIP 5% off. The big difference is the discount is deferred toward future purchases rather than an immediate discount. Also, everyone is allowed into the program unlike the old policy of spending more than $1000 a year to get a VIP discount. 1000 points accumulated gives you $30 redemption value. Like before, the points are only applied to new issues; higher the issue price, the more points. Older coins, banknotes, supplies, etc. give you a 5 points regardless of the value of the item. 1000 points = $30 which works out to be about a 4.5% discount vs the 5% of the old program.

Quote: And the offerings from Colonial Acres and CC&C are pitiful. Nothing but poor selling coins. Why would dealers put strong-selling / popular coins on sale? The profits derived from selling such coins at full price helps offset the lower (or non-existent) profits they make when having to discount slower-selling coins to clear their over-stocked inventory. After all, dealers have to make a profit to stay in business!

CA has some NGC graded stuff that they are selling pretty cheap. I picked up a few things.

It is a poor website, I complained, noting no button in the Wish List area to return to shopping area, you have to navigate the way back to the sales page you were on, very frustrating to get around. Many sales categories - Mega Sales, Blowout Sales, Unique Sales, Mint Sales, and sub categories within each, very cumbersome. It wiped out my former wish list (I was warned in an email and copied them all down but now have to repopulate with the coins). I put a few things on the new wish list but am frustrated by this new site at Colonial Acres. VIP Discount was 5% in the past. I will be spending less here as it is harder to find the sales I want. Pictures are no bigger in the magnifier. Boxing Day specials are nothing special, old NCLT and a lot of scratch and dent decimal coins raw in 2x2s. Discounts on graded coins are OK at best. Not trying to be a downer here, just keeping it real. This was my favourite place to shop in the past, too bad the new website is an opportunity missed.

Even before the Colonial Acres website revamp, I found the sales at Colonial Acres very poor in the last few months. I have not ordered from their blow-out and unique item sales for a long time.
What they are selling in their weekly sales are poor quality items and old NCLT coins. Many of the decimal coins are scratched, cleaned, and impaired.
Colonial Acres seem to be shifting their better quality items to their monthly auctions

2hrs and 40 mins to go on the 5 coin set and it's still at $330. 15 bidders and 58 bids. I expect it to jump in the next 2 hours. Time will tell.

Thanks, Yingyang for posting update.
I've tried to find something interesting - and wasn't able. There was, maybe still, 2013 Superman "The Shield" coin for issue price (probably scratched OGP). And also pair of the "last" 2012 Penny Roll (magnetic and non-magnetic) for $10 in total - not bad price, it sold out now.
