Come on guys ^^ lets get this moving... does anyone collect Sasanian coinage? There's a Xusros II, Drachm, 630 AD on v-coins for 65 Euro...
I know this thread will be a lot of fun once we break through into the Roman and Greeks.

Wow I'm sorry I actually have Sasanian coinage covering you from 600-630's, they're in my cheap ancient album why is why I don't check them very often. Here's a drachm of Yazdigerd III minted in SK (Sijistan) year 2 (633 CE)

@mohammadaak, that is great! Thanks for once again reviving this thread. We will start on the decade of the 620s tomorrow!

Thanks all! Alright, since it's already August 11th in Dubai, I guess I can post the next piece (let me know if we're restricted to a certain timezone in this forum): A Sasanian drachm of Khusro II minted in PL (an unidentified mint) year 35 (AD 625).

I think we usually go by forum time (top right hand corner of web page) but I have no objections...its not like people have been queuing up to post coins from 630's AD.

Quote: (let me know if we're restricted to a certain timezone in this forum) Yes please use CCF official time rather than your local time. I think we may have multiple coins from the 620s and so let's keep that open for the entire day of August 11. Thx.

Now everyone is in a hurry... today is for 620's, that one is for 610's ^^ (based on first year of issue)
Still I guess it beats nobody posting anything, even so I want to see January's Heraclius for 620's...

Not trying to be "in a hurry". I only missed rule #3 when reading the rules on page 1 (they definitely need more spacing between them). Mistakes do happen, so not sure why the snarky remark? Seeing a few coins on past pages violate this rule without being called out on only served to reinforce my mistaken viewpoint. I'll just go ahead and delete the post and save everyone the eyesore.

The remark was not meant to be "snarky" or why you would think that, it was meant to be light hearted... as I indicated its far better than nobody posting anything which has been the situation for some time. I was only too happy to see your contribution.

Here is my Sasanian Drachm from 629-630 AD (year 2). It was minted at Yazd under the authority of Artashir III. I'm looking forward to more coins from the 620s being posted today. Tomorrow we move on to the 610s! This could be the start of a nice flurry of activity.
