I'm Australian, but I've lived in England, US and Japan.

Currently, I've been living in Japan for 10 years.

I've mostly collected British coins, and some Australian coins, but more recently, I've been collecting Japanese silver coins.

i.e. 1 Yen silver coins (1870-1914, 416 grains silver), along with 50 Sen (1/2 Yen) silver and a few smaller denominations.

One good thing about collecting these coins in Japan, is that rather than competing with others on ebay (which I do as well), you can scour the many flea/antique markets for coins, and pick up real bargains if you know what you're looking for!
e.g. I picked up an 1889 silver 1 Yen just yesterday, AU, for 4500 yen (around $40 USD) when you might expect to pay $100-$150+ for a similar coin on ebay. You can, of course handle the coin, and make it easier to determine if it is a fake or not.

I just found this thread, but I'm in Canton, TX, home to what is supposed to be the largest flea market in the world (how that conclusion was made is undecided)...However, it is impressive in size and attendance and I'm sure offers many coin dealing opportunities (minus the common price gouging).
Before this, I scoured all of East Texas up and down, a little of Louisiana (college) and Arkansas.

Hello everyone!! I'm in Scranton, Pa and fairly new at coin collecting. I have a lot of coins that my dad collected. My mom wanted me to have them after he passed away three years ago... There's coins from all over the world..
