I'm not sure when he started writing. He was one of the 12 founders of TAMS in 1960. I think he might've still been a struggling dealer then.
I know one of his earliest writings was about coin cycles, which is interesting because TAMS aquired over a 1,000 members by 1964. There must have been an enormous interest in tokens and medals in the early 1960's. And yet the same situation existed a hundred years earlier around 1858 there was an enormous interest in tokens and medalets--(small medals). I'm sure, much to the delight of the Lovetts.
