I was out and about today and stopped at a pawn shop. I saw this little silver bar (15.7 grams) sitting in a cabinet and was drawn to it. I did some haggling and got it for an almost reasonable price. The thing is I can't seem to find anything online about it. Hoping someone knows something about it.

To my eye, it looks like a "German" (DE for Deutschland) silver bar of questionable authenticity. The reichs-eagle is holding an Iron Cross instead of a swastika, and it looks really silly... WWII is very popular and people are obsessed with the Nazis and their Nazi gold, so I've heard that there are a lot of modern silver bars struck with fake Nazi-ish symbols. This could be one of them... or it could be a real piece of German silver from before WWII, but this is less likely.

Looks like it could be legit, but In all honesty it probably is not from WWII

It's small and marked everywhere with semi German symbolism. That was throwing me off for sure, but it's real silver so that a plus. I really didn't think it was WWII era at all. I was more wondering if it was a known manufacturer or just some hobbyist made bar.

These look like novelty bars. Nothing wrong with that. Many of us buy bullion with critters or Chinese zodiac symbols or patriotic images. Heck, I even collect oversized US quarters...which sounds totally crazy to someone outside our hobby.

If you like 'em, buy 'em. However, I wouldn't expect to find much about these bars or their symbolism that's in any way historic.
