Sometimes I fear that new collectors, and those on a budget might get discouraged looking at other peoples coins. Be of good cheer. Most of the stuff I post, including this one, cost less than 35 cents. Go forth and scour the melt bucket.

At a show today, I found a dealer who was trying to get rid of a bunch of wheats, and had them in tubes (of 50, of course) organized by decade at $2.50 per, regardless of decade. I was planning on not buying cheap stuff, but I couldn't really pass it up, so I limited myself to eight tubes. Anyway, there are quite a few nice coins in there. I've organized by date/mm, but haven't checked the 1917s for DDOs yet.
What I'm getting at is that there are a lot of real nice woodies in there, so I'll post some pics here when I get a chance.

Thanks pete. I'm really curious how "loose" that lam strip on the 1920 is. If it just pops right off I may have to double slab it Too bad I don't have the other piece of the 1916. It looks freshly dropped and high grade

WOW! these are some of the coolest looking coins ive ever seen!
I never knew the wood grain toning was an actual thing.

Is it more likely to happen to copper coins?
