I've had this coin for years now, I believe I picked it up at a boot sale one time, but I found it recently and I'm very interested to find out more about it. Thanks in advance to anybody who can help!

Not a coin--probably a good luck charm or some such. China churns out so many of these things for tourists that it's hard to keep track.

We have a few members who are fluent in Mandarin--they can translate the reverse for you, but I bet it's something like "Wealth and happiness will be yours."

Okay, thanks, I didn't consider that it could be something other than a currency. Is it of any value at all? I'm trying to decide what to do with it, I'm considering polishing it up and just keeping it to look at, but I wouldn't want to ruin it by cleaning it if it's anything more than unusual.

The coin is a reproduction (fake) of this authentic specimen.

Not necessarily a fake.
This ia a copy of a fantasy dollar sized coin - like object.

These are not necessarily meant to fool anyone, they are more intended to be a keepsake, and I would think that is what the original owners would expect them to be.
