My 1964 Proof set is type B - is it supposed to be? Maybe you can post a link here to where you have it listed in the grading section so I can follow the post?

I am so lost Variety Vista is updating their website and I can't find the Design Variety listings page - I hope they still have it.

thanks

coincents yes type B is a proof reverse so on a proof would be normal.

a site with lots of cool info on type b's

http://www.washingtontype-b.com/

but they also used the extra proof reverse dies on purpose at the mint to make business strikes with a proof reverse design those are the varieties. there are several reverse die varieties

Some of the retired proof reverses on the 1956-1964 quarters were used again those years. So you have a business strike coin with a type "B" reverse. (retired proof reverse)
