I have a few World coins that I were minted in my birth year. There's no real pattern or organization to the collection, it's just a handful of coins struck in 1961 found mainly in the 'Bargan Bin' at the local coin shop.

This bronze Mocambique 10 Centavos design was only use for 2 years, 1960 and 1961. It's 16 mm in diameter, 1.1 mm thick with a weight of 1.8 grams. That makes it about 20.635% smaller in mass than a clad Roosevelt dime.

That is the local (Portuguese) spelling of Mozambique.

Dearborn asked... "where is Mocambique at?"

Umm, yeah. What jbuck said! And there I was calling it Mo-Cam-B-Que. Just kidding... I knew that. I had to ask my wife yesterday, but yeah, I knew that.

@jbuck LOL! I thought the same thing when I looked at the word after I posted it. It IS very closely related to Bar-B-Que but much more coppery/metallic to the taste buds. *sigh* Great, now I'm craving baby back ribs slathered with Stub's BBQ sauce, but I'm on a ramen noodle budget right now. Looks like it's Stub's on beef or pork flavored Top Ramen. YUM!

Oh yes, I had asked that question, but after a bit of research I found out why and went back and deleted my question - BUT jbuck had already copied it and was posting his reply as I was deleting mine.

Here's the set of those 10 centavos from Mozambique.
Nice as nice as Yoko's though.
