REWAH
Rewa was a state much heard of in Indian history as where Tansen and Birbal, two of the nine gems of Akbar's court came from. The fort of Kalinjar where Shershah died fighting Vir Singh makes Rewa more significant. The state originated in the middle of twelfth century. It went under the Mughals and with their decline, became more or less independent though under the Marathas. It is now part of the state of Madhayapradesh.

ROHILKHAND
This elongated part of land bordered by the river Ganges on the South and on the West was granted to an Afghan group of Rohillas by Emperor Aurangazeb. They were in conflict with Marathas. Later, Oudh and British troupes went against them. Rohilkhand passed on to the hands of the British and now is part of the state of Uttarpradesh.
