I have this 1868 2 cent coin, I think the details look pretty good, but it has environmental damage I think. How good/bad is it? Can anything be done to help?

It's pretty far gone; might have been buried at some point. You could try soaking it in Verdi-Care, but I doubt even that would make much of a difference. It's a cull, basically.

You could try Verdi-Care and a soak in Olive oil, that might help

AU details, ex-ground recovery IMO, as above. Way better than VF (full motto and almost no wear to shield lines.)

Look at the wear in the leaves on the obverse though...

Also, look at the reverse. I know its hard to see but it certainly looks worn to me!

Maybe a VF-35 details, shot at XF Details, but not AU!

I'd call it EF details needs a soak in acetone.

I would go high VF to low XF details.
