The George Rogers medal is part of a four-medal series issued by the Indiana Numismatic Association.
The obverse of each medal has great relief.

I've seen versions that have a "normal" bronze patina; this one caught my eye for being out of the ordinary.

Very fine medal, Captain Billy! I really like the obverse.

Excellent medal, CaptainBilly! And thank you for including the insert information - it was a much needed history lesson for me.

Here's one of a series of medals struck by Medallic Art Company (MACO) to support the Centennial of US Agricultural Experiment Stations; the medals date to 1975. For more on the medals, see: - 1975 NC Agricultural Experiment Station

1963 MACO "Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU" Abraham Lincoln. This is the 3 inch, 288g, version. Sculptor: Anthony De Francisci (whose most famous design was the Peace dollar). No insert, unfortunately. Would have enjoyed reading the artist's comments on his reverse design, which includes Lincoln's famous quotation from his June 16, 1858, speech at the Illinois Republican State Convention in Springfield. De Francisci also designed the 1920 Maine Centennial Commemorative Half Dollar.
