I have the MACO ANA medal from the preceding year in New Orleans, but not the informational pamphlet. The reverse features images of the signing of the Louisiana Purchase, a sidewheel steamboat on the Mississippi River, and St. Louis Cathedral with the statue of Andrew Jackson from the square across from it. The assembly was held on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois from 15-31 August. Obverse Reverse: The church is portrayed as a boat afloat on the sea of the world with the mast in the form of a cross. The word "oikoumene" from which the term "ecumenical" derives, means "the whole inhabited earth." In the original Greek, it reflected the interaction of religion, philosophy and political administration as they shaped society.
