Anthony De Francisci, designer of the Peace dollar, was the sculptor of inventor, industrialist, and philanthropist Peter Cooper's Hall of Fame for Great Americans medal -- issued in 1963-- shown below: De Francisi's comments on the reverse design (from the pamphlet): Quote: "The reverse of the Cooper medal strives to convey the Human Family led by the Spirit of inquiry through education on the arduous path to the Summit seeking the light of Truth through Inspiration (Pegasus) . Cooper's abbreviated biography is fascinating: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Cooper

Quote: From wikipedia: Yup, It was pretty much assumed by everyone they pulled a Poltergeist with the graves. I could fill a forum with ghost stories shared over the years. Skiing on that lake, I was always ready to get up out of the water as fast as I could.

Thanks, jbuck, and E&V Next Up: Grover Cleveland. Sculpted in 1966 by Albert d'Andrea. The 22nd and 24th POTUS was born and died in New Jersey. As depicted on the reverse, the dedication of the Statue of Liberty in 1886, occurred early in his first term of office.

I prefer the aesthetics of the medals of the first half of the 20th century, made by MACo (and with other manufacturers too, to be honest). Among the earliest - Isidore Konti medal. It's second issue 'Circle of Friends of the Medallion'. Wanderer returns home (1910). With out a booklet.

According to the published MACo archives, V.D. Brenner 'Haney Medal' dates back to 1909. But actually MACo began producing this medal in 1921. In 1909 there was a different manufacturer. The medal was issued until 1950. If the year is indicated on the reverse, then it before 1947; if not, then it is between 1947-1950. According to these data, my medal is quite "young" (between 1947 and 1950).
