@WHC:

As I've posted my MACO acquisitions, there are some examples where I've commented on the artistry of the medal. Some of the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU medals are pretty ordinary (and if I weren't seeking the entire collection, I would have ignored them). Those were produced in the 1960's and 1970's and some of the artists (sculptors) were better than others, in my opinion. In particular, Abram Belskie, Stanley Martineau, and Michael Lantz are my favorites and their work is represented and identified throughout this thread. Within the first 10-15 pages of this thread are wonderful examples posted by commems, Hondo Boguss, and others.

John R. Sinnock did this medallion for the US Mint.

Lovely example!

I have two of those — in silver and bronze — as part of the 2014 C&C set.

MACO # 1953-066 was issued by the Edison Electric Institution to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Thomas Edison's signature invention. Per the MACO specimen archive, Bruno Mankowski was the sculptor.

This 1967 issue by the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU features 28th President of the United States Woodrow Wilson in profile on the obverse. "JUS GENTIUM" [The Law of Nations] on the reverse, above a stylized female figure bearing palm leaves-- symbols of victory, triumph, and peace above the Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, that served as the headquarters of the League of Nations. In exergue are the dates of Wilson's term of office. Sculptor was C. Paul Jennewein.
