1912H Nicaragua 1 cordoba; 0.900 silver; 38 mm; mintage= 35 thousand:   This is a one year type, and an all-time favorite. It is the largest coin one can obtain with the classic 'peeking sun' design. Check out that low mintage. If your world crown collection lacks one of these, it is a coin worth seeking out. There were also some proofs made; good luck finding one of those and cheers if you can afford it.

It's a while ago since we last saw a farthing here. UK farthing (1/4 d) of 1912:  One more Belgian Franc in the 1912 harvest:  ... I need to make some more pictures to keep me going. |

I don't see many V nickels posted here so far, so here's a nice V nickel, framed by a bunch of ancient coins. (Yes, this is actually a photo of a bunch of ancient coins with a V nickel for scale. But why not?)  In case you wonder, yes, this nickel's date can be identified just from this side (by the presence of the mintmark) - and yes, it happens to be the one appropriate to be posted here today. |
