@arkie, I said that because I believe that East Prussia was annexed by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth a few years earlier (1772 or 1773 AD). I know that this region has undergone multiple changes of rulers, so if you have other information, I would be interested in hearing about it.

If Wikipedia can be trusted, that was actually the time when Prussia seized West/Royal Prussia from Poland.
