Seems the gold plating aftermarketers did not pay much attention to condition when they rounded up Ikes to offer to the gullible public. Note the big gouge in the neck of this '76-D.
There are lots of colorization gimmicks happening in the coin realm nowadays, but this is the only style I find appealing.
Dealers consider them junk, which means they sell for very little. The losers are the ones who buy them from the national magazine ads and pass them along to their kids and grandkids, thinking they will be valuable treasures some day. I know for sure that I am not gonna live long enough to see that day.
