Hello, everyone. I couldn't help but to get your opinions on this LMC. It has strong doubling on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, below his ear, and behind his head. However, I can't find anything on a doubled die for it. Opinions appreciated.

Sorry that is Machine Doubling on those devices. That is why you won't find it listed. It is not a doubled die. What you are seeing is device reduction after the strike caused by the machine, not hub doubling on the die.

The doubling looks shelf like to me, suggesting MD. I also can't see separation in the serifs of the letters. Maybe it's the angle or lighting. Can you post a full head on picture of the obverse?

Thank you, coop. I thought it was MD, but the ear threw me off. I should have went a little further with my previous statement. I couldn't find anything on a doubled die from that coin which led me to believe it was most likely MD. That's a great picture showing the differences.

Thanks, Druu. I agree with you. I don't see any separation, but I thought it could possibly be from the wear. I can, but I don't have any at the moment. These are some I had that I was trying to do a little more research on.
