Hounddog Bill Pillar of the Community Canada 1243 Posts	Posted 02/26/2017 12:25 pm I've had this coin for quite a while and if my memory serves me correctly the toning seems to have advanced in the last five years, if it continues I'll soon have a black coin. darryldarryl Pillar of the Community Canada 2430 Posts	Posted 02/26/2017 7:23 pm PMD caused by a torch of some sort. Is it possible that the high temperature from the heat played a role in the long term toning on your coin. That is, the heat broke down certain chemicals within the coin allowing it to tone more easily? rocky Pillar of the Community Canada 2784 Posts	Posted 02/27/2017 10:43 am but wouldnt that make the copper move. it does not take much heat to effect that copper plating. if it does not rub off. it can not be smoke. it has a very different look appealing when it comes to tone. In hand it sure looks like toning with a dark steel blue colour that has a glossy appearance when held at the proper angle. Appreciate all the replies so thanks to all.
