That must have been nasty!

At least the coins can be salvaged. In my neck of the woods, I'm sure dash temps in summer easily exceed 130°F. The only things that have happened to me was a guitar kept in my trunk cracked and the bridge gave and one time my rearview mirror fell off while driving (it actually gave me a good laugh).

I found this quote from the CDC:

100°F or higher is not uncommon here in summer.
