On the other hand, might be nice to know because you'll sit and look at it until you die. wondering. I don't know. It's your $40 - or so. What does the edge look like? Weight is not because the copper nickel and 40% silver weights have a HUGE overlap due to mint tolerances. (clad can weigh 10.9 - 11.79 grams, and 40% silver can weigh 11.1 - 11.9 grams. So a coin that weighs between 11.1 to 11.79 grams could be either one.) Quote: 40% silver as they were minted from alloy composition and were a solid silver color.
