On Friday I was working out in the gym when my buddy showed me a Lincoln Cent he had just found on the floor. He's a smart aleck and decided to make some comedy out of it. He took the penny to the front desk and told the young woman there, "Hi, I just found this penny on the floor. I wanted to turn it in in case someone here lost it." She gave him this look that made me think she wasn't sure if he was being serious or not. (BTW, she knows him and knew he is a good guy.) Anyway, she took it and he walked away. A little while later he told me that I should go up to the desk and tell her I was looking for a penny I'd lost. So I went to the desk and told her innocently (and trying desperately not to crack up), "I lost my lucky penny and I think I lost it here. Did anyone turn in a penny?" She started to smile as she looked behind me to my friend. Both he and I began to laugh uproariously. She smiled but didn't laugh. I'm still not entirely sure she got the joke. I'm afraid she thought we were laughing at her rather than with her. Anyway, a good time was had by all--or at least mostly all.

What "media" reported this? It sure wasn't the numismatic media.

Quote: What "media" reported this? It sure wasn't the numismatic media. And the fact that it says "hobbies" (plural) is even more preposterous. Maybe that was in 1900 dollars.
