Agreed! Great deal. These will hammer for 2x that price + the standard commission. You paid details money for this coin - well done sir.

Agreed, and thanks. Definitely the snag of the year. Pepactonius, Nice Cuban Peso. I like Cuban coins, for two reasons. One, they're attractive, and two, simply due to ebay's bad policy, values are, IMHO, suppressed to a significant degree. I think they are generally good pick-ups because once either ebay betters their policy on Cuban coins or ebay ceases to be the de facto coin market, values will normalize, upwards, and significantly.

agreed. It actually looks much better than in the ebay pics. You have thoroughly tested it for authenticity? Something about Latvian sellers.... At 300USD, it's a great purchase.

Thank you guys! cableguy815 I'm pretty sure it's genuine! It sounds like silver, the edge is alright and it has that specific bend of a roller die coin!I have to agree that in hand looks a lot better than I expected! The price was 295$ actually:))

That's a fantastic piece. Roller die coins, especially the larger ones, have a unique and special appeal. It's remarkable how much fine detail could be captured by this method. Here is another example, a Leopold thaler from Austria:

Here is a wild and crazy guy from Brunswick-wolfenbuttel. Not Gem of course, and there may have been an old polishing. The green highlights are not actually green-but is some wear that looks green in the picture.

Great item oriole. I like the design. I had not seen a wild/barbarian type like that before.
