Lovely coins. Indian Heads hold a special place in my heart. My first coin purchase was a $5 Indian Head (I forget the year) for a whopping $100. I still have it to this day (it is also my only Indian Head).

Gorgeous coins! Is it a small amount of copper in the alloy that allows that '29 to tone like that?

That's what I assume but I was also going to ask to get a definitive answer.

To be honest I am not sure what causes the toning. I know the copper can be the reason some coins look more red but not sure what causes the blue. I am getting the blue toner from John Whitten, he may know?

Yes, its the copper. 0.999 gold does not tone, but these are all 90% gold, 10% copper.

My last of the gold type to nab. Strange that the quarter Indian seems to be the last one for so many people.

There are a lot fewer of these than assumed, I think. Once they are in a collection they are kept for decades.

All of yours are exceptional. Congratulations.
