I would be perfectly happy to buy a 'copy' or a fake of a Confederate Half Dollar at a reasonable price.

I already have other fakes of very rare coins, which would otherwise would be impossible for me to obtain.

In such circumstances, the seller would not be fooling me and
I would not be fooling anybody else.

Why buy a fake when you can buy a variety of 1861-O halves that was struck by the Confederacy?

I'd get both, but someone who wants the actual Confederate reverse is stuck with re-strikes or fakes as the only real option unless you're willing and able to throw show much money at one of the owners that they can't say no.
