mrwhatisit Pillar of the Community United States 2985 Posts	Posted 09/06/2022 7:05 pm Also picked this up yesterday at the flea market also for very cheap, like a dollar! It is a 90% silver French 5 franc's dated 1867 turned into a pocketknife by a Frenchman Eloi Perhet and it was made in France, perhaps done in the 1920s-1930s. I am not sure if this would be considered an exonumia piece but it is from a real coin. Apparently these are quite valuable not only from a silver perspective, but the provenance that goes with it. These dealers there were really nice and had multiple grab bags of all kinds of tokens, medals, and a few coins, and they let me actually pick out the items I wanted to make my own grab bag all for a bottom basement price! Also not sure if any more of these "pocketknives" are here on CCF. Report this Post to the Staff
