in I am not an animal ... I am a human being! ... and I collect medals

Starts out as ... "There is an untapped area of U.S. Mint issues" etc.

Let's add this mornings snag that I believe I got at a good price raw.
It goes well with my medal theme in that area.
(1947) C. Smith Confederate Half Dollar Seal CSA So-Called Half Dollar
A-Continuing-Thread-~-Post-Your-Tokens,-Medals,-Exonumia-Acquisitions

I don't know much about this medal except that I have seen it in vintage Wayte Raymond holders of 8 medals that include:

Pony Express Diamond Jubilee (1935)
Minute Man Lexington Sesquicentennial (1925)
Lindbergh Flight to Paris (1927)
Admiral Byrd Antarctic (1928-1930)
Thomas Edison Centennial (1947)
Daniel Boone, Lexington, KY (1925)
Confederate Half Dollar ( Bust of Gen. Lee ) Replica
Confederate Seal Replica (shown above)

The Confederate issues being the keys and the sets are generally listed at around $250. The singles of the more common 6 can be had for $15 to $30 and they may all be made of nickel, the confederate issues are definitely nickel.

Hawaiian Statehood Silver medal from Medallic Art. 64mm. This is the error, with a space between Nii and Hau. Apparently the error is more scarce in both bronze and silver. I have only ever personally seen the errors.
