I was quite happy to find this coin today. My father-in-law asked if I wanted to check his change and I saw this one right away. It's the Delaware state counterstamp on a 1997 LMC. The reason I was happy was that it's been YEARS since I found a counterstamp on any coin.

Nice find in the wild Yokozuna! I'm pretty sure I've never found one in the wild. I have had a political one that I stamp and distribute fairly regularly in my area that I have come back to me but I don't think that counts.
I can't post my counter stamp because of The Forum rules.

Thought of you while at the flea market the other day. Someone had a whole carded set of the State counterstamps like you have posted on here before.
I was going to ask the price and got distracted. I just now remembered seeing them and how they brought you and your thread to mind.

Not a Lincoln Cent, but a counterstamped cent nonetheless. 1817 Large cent with my actual initials on the reverse. Obtained from Numismatics by Kenny, a sponsor of the CCF. I encourage everyone to visit his store - he is always a fair dealer. His link is at the top of the page.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
