Or as the kids used to say... circle gets the square.

This is where that comes from actually. I bet few got that reference.

So, liking pigs was my thing. I have built a sizeable collection of pigs (porcelain, stuffed, etc.) that my grandmother, mother, and a few friends have given me over the past fifty or so years. Back when wearing gold chains was a thing, I had a pig charm necklace. (I still have it, but never wear it now).

So there you have it. Pigs are cool.

Cool story. I wore this alpha dog tag in sterling silver which was a bit different and still have it here actually with my coins I need to start unboxing, but no Pig charm...My step father collected elephants like statues, and visited them when he was sent to africa for his nasa work. Ever watch the movie PIG (2021)?

Great story jbuck...meant to comment earlier but been in a rush.

I have German blood. For some reason Germans have a (don;t know what to call it) "fascination with pigs int heir language. For example when they do not relate to something they can say (translated), "that is not my sausage." Sort of like that is not my business/problem.

My favorite is one I will let CCF family members use an online translator for...and I use it in emails with linguistic friends of mine as well:
Ich glaub' mein Schwein pfeift.

I seem to recall that when taking German in HS. Maybe my love for pigs comes from the German side of my family.

With apologies to Chafe for the extended hijack, I decided to get the old necklace out so you can see it.

Hey jbuck, start a thread to show us your pig coins. You must have an Ireland ½ Pingin and a Bermuda 1 Cent, right?

No and no.

No pig coins...

Yet...

However, I have plenty of pig stamps when I was doing the stamp thing ~40 years back.
