blessyourheart New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 01/31/2018 11:08 pm Hello, I have looked at many Spanish coins online but cannot find any 1627 (thats what the date looks like to me) or many Philipp IIII (why is Philipp spelled with 2 P's? Would really like to know if you think this is an actual coin (not a fake) and what is it called, and is it common or rare? thank you... Pistareen Valued Member United States 309 Posts	Posted 02/01/2018 06:35 am You have a 1627-dated, monogram-style, medio, or half real of Segovia, Spain minted under the authority of King Phillip IIII. Segovia is known for its Roman aqueduct and this silver coin was fashioned using roller dies that were powered by waterwheel. The old Segovia mint still stands despite having operated circa1585 - 1730 in the making of Spanish Coins. See it on line and you can become a friend of the Segovia mint to help preserve it.
