A couple that came my way in lots of tokens. By the way, tokencatalog.com has a section on Encased Coins - please consider adding yours to their database.

Not a cent, but this seems like a good place to post it. 1887-O Morgan dollar encased by DX Showcase Stations in 1963, advertising DX Super Boron gasoline.

Lots of cents encased but you don't see a Morgan very often. Nice find.

Almost forgot about this one. Encased Buffalo nickel. Obverse: "THE ESSENCE OF MORALITY IS THE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS / GOOD LUCK" Reverse: "ACCEPT THIS LUCKY CHARM IN THE NAME OF A MOST WORTHY CAUSE"

The A&P Grocery Store chain (The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company) in Pennsylvania conducted some kind of promotion back in the early 1960's and issued these Encased Coins in Pittsburgh and Altoona, PA. The 45mm encasement is plastic and they are blank on the reverse.

Those are very cool, Captainrich - rare to see encased silver! There was an A&P in our neighborhood when I was growing up in the '60s. "Ann Page" products were a staple of our diet.

While I enjoy looking at all the examples posted here, I don't collect Encased Coins. However, I was browsing through a box of my miscellaneous stuff and found these two I have which I'd forgotten about. I believe these were in a large lot of coins I bought from an elderly friend-of-the-family back in the 1990's. One is Gold Seal Milk lucky penny which appears to have a plated circulated 1946 cent which has lost a lot of the plating. The other is from Curry's Furniture in Bell, California with a 1948 cent.

Very nice, hokiefan! Like you, I don't necessarily collect Encased Cents but sometimes they are included in lots that I purchase. The Morgan and Buffalo posted above were acquired intentionally, however.

Thanks, Hondo. Your Morgan and Buffalo are great pickups! I think I would have had a hard time passing those up myself...

I've failed to look at so many of these over the years, to my regret.
