Well that 2003 loonies on a dime, sold for 6500 plus HST just a tremendous price, have to rethink what cool errors are worth.

. Have to win the lottery for that one. This one fits the season.

"A group of loons has many collective nouns, including an "asylum", "cry", "loomery", "raft", and "water dance" of loons." These Specimen examples come from the special toonie Young Wildlife series, that sadly was dropped. After the security mark came out in 2012, these were the economical way to continue the original loon design collection, then they dropped it. . The toonies were real nice as well. I always got a set. Hmmm..."asylum" of loons....you never know what you might find in the "loonie bin". .

Nice "cry" you have there, oh Loonie one, although I like asylum.
Great way to keep the series going.

Quote: Nice flock! Loon's don't flock. Flocks are for ducks. Just ask Mark. . Loons jump on "rafts" to do the "water dance" as they escape the "asylum" with a "cry" of joy. (Couldn't fit "loomery") .

Thought I would share this info. Back in 1979 the Sherritt Mint tested this coin with gold plating. The quality was very poor and dull and more research was needed. Over the years and in 1987 when the Loonie was developed and the need for the new planchets emerged from the Serritt Mint. The moral of this story from the Sherritt Mint Annual Report is the 1979 coin was the beginning of the Loon Dollar testing there plating. Some of you Loon Dollar collectors may want to consider this one.
