Here's a 4 reales cob with hardly any detail, but it does show the denomination to the right of the shield, o/IIII for 4 reales, has transposed lions & castles on the cross side, & a shows visible last digit "9", for a confirmed date of 1619 ... these are scarce ... ...I also will take this opportunity to show what full details on a cob from Potosi, of this era, would look like fully struck ... this is my "artistic" rendering of a die set for shield & cross style cobs of Potosi & Lima ... this style was used at Potosi for denominations 1 reales, 2R, 4R & 8R, from 1574 - 1652 ... details of style will vary: lions, castles, crowns, borders, etc., but the general lay-out is consistent ... ...you'll likely never see a coin of this era with complete details showing ...

thank you, Hondo, jbuck, & E&V ... this is one of the cruder in my collection, but in looking for a 4 reale with transposition errors, this is the 1st I've seen, period ...
