Quote: Fantastic Morgan, CoinForMe! To what does the "Weak" refer? Hondo, the original 8-tail-feather Morgan dollar was reworked into a 7-tail-feather design. When the Mint modified the dies, the original 8-tail-feather design was not completely removed before the new 7-tail-feather design was punched over it. I put together the illustration below to show the difference between the "Strong" and "Weak" 7-over-8 Tail Feather Morgan dollars. The "Strong" variety displays more visible remnants of the original 8-tail-feather design, while the "Weak" variety shows only faint traces of the underlying feathers.

Nice one, NumisEd! A friend has just come back from a trip to Denmark and let me go through his loose change. I now have my very first Danish coin with a portrait of the new King, Frederik the Tenth - a 2025 20 Kroner!
