Recently got a package in the mail from our very own @Half, with quite a few nice upgrades for my Japanese type set! While they are all common coins, they are either extremely overpriced outside of Japan, or only very rarely show up in grades above XF. This was my favorite, a single-year type of bronze 1 sen featuring the mythical crow Yatagarasu, issued for a few months in 1938.  |

Very nice! I have its successor, made in tin or zinc (I'm too lazy to look it up). It came home from WWII with my dad, and was in the assortment of coins he gave me that started me off on world coin collecting!

Got this in the mail today. It's kind of a bucket list coin. Fills a big hole in my US minted Panama coins. 1904 Panama 2 1/2 Centesimos. The "Panama Pill"  Not the purdiest one but hey it cost less than $25. Edited by MontCollector

I had to look up that Pill. Quite the little coin for sure. I don't know why but Panama coinage is one of the few non-American coinage that keeps telling me I need to take more interest in it. This pill and one oof the large 20 Balboa coins would make for an interesting display.

"A Dam Quarter" from Coulee Dam Washington. This token is a trade token from the 1940's and is made out of a slice of a granite core drilling taken from the Grand Coulee Dam site.   |
