@guerny, when I straighten, enlarge, and enhance LIBERTY, I only see some damage to the L and maybe the I but no doubling.

No doubling, just Post Strike Damage ( PSD).

Also the devices touching the rim were from an issue that year on the master hub.

They replaced it in 1969. But all the cents that look like this more or less depending on die wear.
