The coins are all beautiful with the 5 ouncers being my favorite. The error is on the outer sleeve, so it will be an easy fix for anybody who wants the correct packaging. As easy as sliding out the card with the coins and into the new sleeve.

I might be wrong, but I think that he meant the advertising pamphlet that was mailed out from the mint. I have also kept mine and will keep it with my coins. I am still in awe of the 5 ounce coins, they are beautiful in hand!

The "saucer's" in-stock date has just changed to Aug23 & the halves set's backorder status has been removed.

1,000 pairs of dies for 100,000 coins. I know that's what the article said, but I find it really hard to believe that they're only going to strike 100 coins on each die pair.

The history of the mint's first 5 ounce curved coin is being written as we speak. I can almost see the paragraph in a future RedBook referring to "multiple problems with dies causing them to be frequently replaced". With all the "firsts" happening with this issue, the limited mintage and this new development, this might become a very popular coin. Maybe I am just super excited about my order, lol. (I have 2 saucers arriving today!) Someone tell me to calm down. |

If they actually only get 100 coins out of each die set, I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being the last curved 5oz coin.

The article takes a bit of journalist license  If you listen to the interview, Harrigal says they're getting 500-700 coins per die. So, they'll need around 200 sets of dies. Still a lot, but not 1,000  |

Anyone else have trouble removing the $1 proof coin from the packaging. Mine arrived just as I was leaving to catch a flight. I wanted to see it before I left but that sucker is in there tight. Felt as if I was going to tear the packaging if I kept trying so I just left it.

I wonder if the mint will have any Apollo coins for sale at the Long Beach coin show that starts today. They usually have a booth there.
