I have found a 1979 D penny with a mint mark that is filled in. Is it valuable?

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention.

Unfortunately, it may be worth above face value to a collector of that specific error type, but its probably just worth 1 cent.

@Jlam79, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes the post on the die was broken and this allowed material to flow into the center of the mintmark. Yours is a nice example, but I don't think that it is worth more than face value.

Thanks for warm welcome. Well if it's not valuable I still think it is cool. It is in very good shape. I have other cons and questions. I will post later.

It's worth saving if you want to collect mint varieties. As the others have said no value over a regular 1979 of the same grade.
