jeffbuckes Pillar of the Community United States 849 Posts	Posted 12/27/2018 10:18 pm I recently acquired a bag of coins including some junk silver. One of the coins is a circulated Morgan. I'm not looking for grades on this one - just wondering whether it's authentic. The metal and weight feel right (I don't have a precision scale), but the rim damage makes me wonder if it's cast or just banged up. I would appreciate some educated opinons. Slider23 Pillar of the Community United States 4484 Posts	Posted 12/28/2018 11:39 am The coin appears to be genuine as the reverse design is correct for a 21 with large stars, parallel top arrow feather and flat breast feathers. Check the weight and do a magnet test. If the coin is silver you are good as there is not much upside for counterfeiters doing the 21 in 90% silver. Report this Post to the Staff

Thanks everyone for all the input - the rim damage had me second-guess the coin's authenticity, but now I feel good about it.
