Yeah, there's actually A LOT of Railroad themed stuff going on in Topeka all of the time.
They even have Civil War re-enactors participate at some Railroad themed events here.

Ironically I'm always out of town (Topeka) every Labor Day weekend for a radio club convention and have never attended Railroad Days. In 1988 I hosted the convention here and was unable to break away to go to Railroad Days.

It's Labor Day weekend ! So yeah, me too. I like to get "out of town" for that weekend !
That's the time for me to go to Pow Wow's, Mountain Man Rendezvous, camping, the mountains, etc. etc. .......something !
But I rarely stay in Topeka for anything.....so I too have never attended a Railroad Days on Labor Day.....
