I just picked this up for 13 bux...
I didn't really need it, or particularly want it,
but the bid was so low, and no one bothered to
outbid me... So I got it.

I know it's silver, and the PCGS fees probably cost
more than the 13 bux... So did I do okay?
I don't know anything about this issue...

It's one of those "I bid on this cuz it was cheap, but
I didn't seriously expect to win" type of auction wins.

You got it at greysheet bid. Not bad if that's what you collect...

Nope, it is Cu-Ni clad. The only modern commemorative half dollars minted in 90% silver are the 1982 Washington and 1993 Bill of Rights, the rest are Cu-Ni clad.

Greysheet, aka The Coin Dealer Newsletter

Also, original issue price was $10.75 and a mintage of 57,122

krap...
I don't know where I got the idea it was silver,
but that is what was on my mind when I bid.
I wouldn't have bid knowing it was clad.

Looks like it will be making another showing on ebay.

Well, it's a fairly attractive coin in excellent condition with a low mintage in comparison to non-commemoratives. If I collected modern commemoratives, I would be pleased with the price paid.

SteamWalker has it spot on ! And just because it isn't silver, shouldn't take away from this coin or possibly a potential collection of "moderns" someday.
