Hello CCF.

I have been looking and looking and looking at many coins (coin jars and change). And finally I have discovered the most unique quarter I have ever seen!! Please help me analyze and confirm this on all (below). Thank you all

a) This 25c clad on obverse shows (the Doubled Die especially a lot clearer on "D" "WE" of 'IN GOD WE TRUST') => these letters show 3 layers under magnification ! ! ! Is there such thing as a "Tripled Die" at all?
b) 1972 ?
c) D looks doubled (thick) ?
d) You will also see doubling on Washington's nose, lips (look like lipstick lips), and a double chin ?
e) Reverse showing signs too ?

You don't have a DDO or a DDR. Just a average circulated normal Washington quarter worth 25 cents.

@cocoanutz, a great place to find examples of DDOs and DDRs is at varietyvista.com. On that site, I don't see any doubled dies listed for the '72 D quarters (see below link). That doesn't mean that they don't exist, but it greatly calls into question your example. More likely, you have a fabulous example of Machine Doubling on the IGWT.

I agree with Spence. What I see is Machine Doubling, or MD. A really good example too! :)

If it were a doubled die, then the devices would be enlarged. I'm not seeing any of that on your coin:

After enlarging the images quite a bit I would say it is Machine Doubling, but it IS rather extreme, especially on WE. No premium value but a great study/display example.
