sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 05/09/2019 04:06 am There is some contrast between fields and details, but from the pictures that I see, not quite enough contrast to deem 'PL'. Hint of rainbow toning, but only on a minor segment of the obverse. Sharp strike on the reverse, which helps prompt the question 'PL or not?' Slight blotchiness on obverse makes it a bit harder to determine MS62 or or better, but I will give it the benefit of he doubt, therefore, MS63. Much better than either of my two examples of Morgans. There are a lot of PL one-siders out there from the SF mint especially dated 1880 and 1881. I think they played musical dies... Report this Post to the Staff

The mirrors need to be 2-4" deep to hit pl, the contrast is a non factor.....ie you can have a beautiful cameo contrast, but if the mirrors aren't deep enough it is not pl.
